I purchased this scale in Nov 2009 and have used it several times. I find that it isn't really accurate, but seems to do pretty good for such an inexpensive product. One or two grams one way or the other will give it problems at times, but over all I am happy with it. The detachable readout is a nice option and I have used that option when weighing large packages and need to get the readout where I can read it. Seems to be well made and batteries last a long time. I don't bother with trying to use a power brick on it since the batteries work so well.

It possible to detach the scales LCD display, which is great when trying to see the weight of oversize boxes.
Start up time is 10 seconds while the scale calibrates (the display counts down from 9 to 0 so you can see the progress).
If attached to a computer you don't need batteries or a power adaptor - it gets its power right from the computers USB cable.
The Windows only software is terrible. Mac users can download a 3rd party program that works with this scale called sendIT from Brinscall Software.
I've owned one of these for over a year, and it continues to go strong.

The first scale did not illuminate and it had missing LCD segments. I contacted the store through their e-mail address and they sent me another one with a return shipping label. The second scale they sent functions normally and I'm very satisfy with the product and store service.

 Works well, but A/C adapter doesn't fit.Apr 05, 2009
The scale's display is easy to read and being able to extend the display away from the scale is a great convenience. However, the included A/C adapter does not fit the power jack on the scale (a very odd defect), so you can only use this scale with batteries.
